Hi, I’m Kat! A San Diego-based traveler with a passion for discovering the world’s hidden gems and sharing the beauty of diverse cultures and experiences.

I was born and raised in Massachusetts to immigrant parents and I grew up with a unique blend of Chinese-American traditions. My childhood was spent traveling back and forth to Hong Kong and China, sparking my early curiosity about the world beyond my backyard.

After graduating from the University of Maryland, where I was a Division 1 gymnast (yes, flips and handstands were a huge part of my life!), I made sunny San Diego my home. It’s been my haven for the past eight years—a place where I’ve found balance, community, and a love for exploring new horizons.

During college, I studied abroad in Greece, and that experience ignited my lifelong passion for travel. Since then, I’ve prioritized seeing as much of the world as possible, from road-tripping across the U.S. to venturing to international destinations. My flexible work situation has even allowed me to live in new places like New York City for a year and Bali for a month, fueling my desire to explore and experience new places.

Each trip leaves me with unforgettable memories, and I’m constantly inspired by the people, cultures, and landscapes I encounter. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a month-long international trip, I’m always looking for ways to make the most of every adventure.

I’m also lucky to share my love for travel with my husband, Zak! Together, we embrace adventure - whether it’s exploring new destinations, trying unique foods, or soaking in the beauty of everyday moments.

When I’m not planning my next trip, you’ll find me exploring San Diego’s best hidden gems, enjoying a good meal at my favorite local spots, or soaking up the sun on the beach. Travel has given me a deeper appreciation for the world, and I hope to share that joy with others.
